Christmas Selection Box No.2 2023

For this year's Christmas Selection Box No. 2 we have chosen three whites and three reds which reward the customer spending slightly more money with wines of complexity, style and finesse. All available for the discounted price of £86.

Turning Heads Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough (13% Vol) £12.69

On the nose - ripe gooseberries, herbs and citrus fruits. On the palate - pineapple and lime with a crisp acidity that balances well with the fruit.

Jordan Estate Unoaked Chardonnay, Stellenbosch 2020/22 (13% Vol) £16.69

A totally unoaked offering that is intended to show the true characteristics of the variety. Aromas of freshly grated lemon zest and citrus that finishes with flavours of apricot and lime. Excellent with less delicately flavoured fish dishes.

Bellingham Bernard Series Old Vine Chenin Blanc, Franschhoek 2021 (13.5% Vol) £15.90

This wine features vibrant tropical fruit flavours on the nose with hints of honey and oak spice on the palate. A perfect food match would be pan fried sea bass.

Errazuriz Max Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon, Aconcagua Valley  2019/21 (14% Vol) £14.39

The nose has notes of strawberries, cherries and blueberries, accompanied by a soft tone reminiscent of mint with hints of rosemary. The palate is full of cherries, cassis and dark chocolate. A great match for roast venison.

Sampietrana Tacco Barocco Primitivo, Puglia 2021 (13.5% Vol) £12.50

On the nose - plum, blackberry and currant aromas dominate. On the palate - dry, robust, well balanced by fine tannins and a good level of acidity. Great with a barbecue.

Urbina Crianza, Rioja 2012 (14% Vol) £15.70

The nose is dominated by mature fruits, vanilla and spices. The palate is well-balanced and complex with blackcurrant and spicy notes, combined with more black fruit. Good structure and refreshing acidity. Wonderful with rare lamb chops.
